The BSEB 12th/Intermediate Examinations 2018 were started on February 6, 2018 and ended on February 16, 2018. The board has made sure that the evaluation process of the answer sheets should be completed on time this year. For this process to complete on time, the board had appointed teachers for the evaluation and marking process which was to be done from March 5, 2018, to March 15, 2018. Now, that the evaluation process is going on, the mistakes done by students in their answer sheets is coming to light. According to a national daily, around 5,000 students have filled in their name and roll number in the second part of the OMR sheet. This year the board had introduced 50% objective questions in the question paper for Class 12th. To attempt objective questions, each answer sheet had an OMR sheet attached in the front. The OMR sheet had three parts out of which the students were required to fill only the first and the third part. However, as many as 5,000 students have filled in their name and/or roll number in the second part as well. As important as it is to write the answers correctly, it is also important for all the students to fill in their details correctly in the answer sheets.
Earlier, police had detained eight persons including three examinees at Motihari following a tip-off that they were circulating Physics question paper before the beginning of the examination. The leak came two days after Class XII Biology question paper went viral on social media nearly two hours after the exam started in Nawada district on February 6.
According to the sources in the investigation of the paper leak, they have able to identify whose mobile phone was used for circulating the question paper. Bihar Education Minister Krishnanandan Prasad Verma stated that the government will probe the leaked paper.
